2003 Ford Crown Victoria Brake Light Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the brake light switch on 2003 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Service and repair of brake light switches require a first step to disconnect the battery ground cable. Take out the pin-type retainers together with the LH instrument panel insulator before disconnecting the courtesy lamp. You need to disconnect the Brake Pedal Position (BPP) switch electrical connector before removing the BPP switch through removal of its self-locking pin. After removing the brake master cylinder push rod spacer you need to separate the BPP switch from its connection with the brake master cylinder push rod. You should finally uninstall the brake master cylinder push rod bushing. Perform the installation by doing everything in reverse order of the removal steps.
