2003 Ford E-250 Headlight Bulb Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How Can You Safely and Correctly Service the Aerodynamic Headlight Bulb on 2003 Ford E-250?
A: Before servicing the aerodynamic headlamp bulb take necessary precautions because the halogen bulb contains pressurized gas and may shatter if the glass gets scratched or if the bulb sustains a drop; handle the bulb carefully by holding the base only and refraining from touching the glass envelope. The maintenance of the headlamp requires keeping the bulb in position only during the final moments before a replacement to avoid performance degradation from headlamp contamination. Operation of headlamps must always occur with the bulb installed. First remove the headlamp and use counterclockwise one-eighth rotation on the headlamp bulb retainer to take out the bulb. Bulbs No. 9004 and No. 9007 must not be confused with each other due to their similar appearance. Put the new headlamp bulb in position and follow it by rotating the retainer clockwise one-eighth turn before reinstalling the headlamp.
