However if you plan to detach the spring from the coil spring compressor then mark the spring location so you can install it precisely. Install the new spring with correct placement of the top seat mounting while letting the spring ends stop at the respective upper and lower spring seats. Keep the shock absorber wheel knuckle connection temporary by avoiding a complete tightening of the lower retaining bolt during this step. Instead of applying weight to the wheels follow by tightening the shock absorber lower retaining bolt, reinstall the rear wheel and tire first and tighten the bolt when weight is present on the road wheels.
