How to remove and install the rear bumper cover on 2003 Lincoln Town Car?

The first step to remove the rear bumper cover involves elevating and supporting the vehicle. Begin by removing the two rear bumper cover screws that are placed on each side followed by the four pin-type retainers which are located on both sides and the screws. It is necessary to disconnect electrical connectors from parking aids when these systems are found on vehicles. Lower the vehicle before removing pin-type retainers and luggage compartment rear trim panel while also detaching the electrical connector if necessary. The LH luggage compartment trim panel can be put aside once you detach all its push-on retaining clips. Start by removing the rear bumper cover nuts situated on the LH side rear panel followed by taking out the spare wheel trim cover together with the spare wheel. To begin continue by taking out the rear bumper cover nuts from the RH side rear panel followed by the four rear bumper cover nuts which exist in pairs per side. Complete the rear bumper cover removal through opening its sides outwards. Reinstallation of the rear bumper cover requires performing the removal steps backward as well as correctly moving each component into its place.
