  A: The first step to service and repair the transmission support crossmember starts with positioning the vehicle on a hoist then setting it to NEUTRAL. Remove the connectors of RH H02S and RH catalyst monitor while you remove the bolts of the RH exhaust flange. Oven the exhaust pipe by loosening the clamp then pull out the right side exhaust pipe. The same procedure follows for the LH side of the exhaust system after users disconnect the LH H02S sensor connector and LH catalyst monitor connector along with removing the LH exhaust flange bolts and loosening the exhaust clamp to extract the LH exhaust pipe. After the removal of rear transmission insulator nuts, use a suitable transmission jack to install. Begin by unscrewing the bolts at both crossmember sides and proceed by removing the bolts holding the parking brake cable bracket before setting it aside. The crossmember need to be carefully pried out from the crossmember pocket because this component features a press fit. Damage should be avoided during this process. The body shop technician will first lower the RH side of the crossmember before proceeding to lower the LH side and disconnecting the crossmember from the assembly. Begin by inserting the LH crossmember section into its pocket then install its bolts loosely before moving to the RH crossmember side. First secure the bolts at the LH and RH crossmember sides and reinstall the parking brake cable bracket. Before removing the transmission jack position the transmission onto the crossmember then put on the rear transmission insulator nuts. Affix the RH catalytic converter assembly with all clamp screws loose after proper installation. Then install the RH exhaust flange nuts before tightening the clamp. Make the connector connections for H02S sensor on the RH side and catalyst monitor and install the LH catalytic converter assembly without clamp tightness. Attach the LH exhaust flange nuts while you tighten the LH exhaust clamp and after that connect both the LH H02S sensor connector and the LH catalyst monitor connector. Finally, lower the vehicle.
