How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2004 Ford Escape?

Service of the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor requires the vehicle to be raised and supported as the first step. The service routine for the right front lower splash shield requires bolt removal before disconnecting the CKP sensor electrical connector. Initial disconnect the connector before removing both the sensor-reciprocating bolt and extracting the sensor unit. Follow the same procedure in reverse order to mount the new sensor by tightening its installation components.
