2004 Ford Expedition Battery Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the battery cables on 2004 Ford Expedition?
A: Service of the battery cables starts by disconnecting the battery power. First detach the ground bolt from the negative battery cable at the cowl panel followed by removing the positive battery cable nut on the positive terminal junction. After unbolted the engine cover you should disconnect the two tiestraps from the battery cable harness. Elevate the vehicle after disconnecting the electrical connector which is attached to the battery cable harness. The battery cable harness requires release from its two support brackets before the starter motor solenoid terminal cover is extracted. You should disconnect the starter motor connections through these steps: first detach the negative cable starter motor nut followed by the nut for the starter solenoid cable and then detach the nut for the positive cable starter motor. After removing the negative battery cable from the frame bolt you should take out the battery cable harness. Follow the opposite steps of removal to install the parts.
