How to service the tailgate latch on 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

The tailgate service requires opening the tailgate first followed by unscrewing the screws on the tailgate access panel. The process continues with disconnecting the tailgate latch remote control actuating rods through a step of opening the locking clips while removing the rods. Both right-hand and left-hand tailgate latches need removal through screw unscrewing followed by extraction of the latch piece (the procedure for removing them is equal). When installing the new latch users should perform the removal procedure in reverse order. You should apply multi-purpose grease spray as needed for lubricating the latches.
