2005 Lincoln Aviator Brake Booster Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the vacuum brake booster on 2005 Lincoln Aviator?
A: Service of the vacuum brake booster needs master cylinder removal followed by disconnecting both brake booster solenoid electrical connector and brake booster transducer electrical connector. The service on the brake booster requires removal of two components. First detach the electrical harness connector bracket from the brake booster housing followed by vacuum hose disconnection from the brake booster. Before moving the brake stoplamp switch to the side the technician must remove both the redundant self-locking pin cover and self-locking pin. First remove the brake stoplamp switch bushing as well as the spacer and the brake booster push rod. New nuts should be used for the brake booster installation while tightening the nuts to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.). Re-installation of the replacement should start by reversing all steps used for removal.
