2005 Lincoln Town Car Air Suspension Compressor Parts Q&A

  • Q: What steps should be taken before servicing the air suspension compressor on 2005 Lincoln Town Car?
A: Turning off the electrical power to the air suspension system becomes necessary before compressor service because unexpected air spring inflation or deflation can cause vehicle shifts during operations. Proceed with switching off the air suspension switch before removing both the engine air cleaner and the air compressor drier cover by removing pushpins from each component. Afterward remove the glowing white pushpin from the snorkel assembly before taking out the snorkel itself. Disconnect the air compressor through a two-step process: first squeeze the quick connect locking ring then pull out the air line and secondly disconnect the electrical connector. It is necessary to lift the vehicle while supporting it during removal before extracting the air compressor after removing all nuts. Insufficient air ventilation makes it necessary to insert at least 3 mm (1/8 inch) of visible white line into the air line fittings which feed the compressor drier during replacement operations. The removal process will finish by following its reverse sequence.
