How to service the rear bumper cover on 2005 Mercury Monterey?

The screws and push pins connect the rear bumper cover which can be detached to service it. Disassemble the parking aid wiring harness and, in case of installing a new cover, take away the parking aid sensors. Bore a pilot hole, taking care of sensors fitting well. Position the outer bracket and attach the wiring harness and then attach the bumper cover.
