2006 Ford Five Hundred Oil Pressure Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Oil Pressure Switch on 2006 Ford Five Hundred?
A: Service the oil pressure switch when the vehicle sits in neutral position at a hoist. You should start by taking off the accessory drive belt after disconnecting the A/C compressor electrical connector and wiring harness retainer. You should first remove the A/C compressor with its pair of bolts and nuts while setting the compressor aside before tightening those screws to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) when reinstalling it. The next step is to remove the 6 bolts which will allow you to position the A/C compressor bracket away from the working area. When reinstalling this bracket it must be tightened to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Begin by disconnecting the oil pressure switch electrical wires then remove the switch using caution to tighten it to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.) when installing it. You should follow the same removal steps in reverse order for installation and apply Teflon-reinforced pipe sealant to the oil pressure switch threads.
