How to service the hood latch on 2006 Ford Fusion?

In order to service the hood latch, label the location, unscrew the two bolts and store the latch. Torque bolts to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) when re-installation is done. Let go of the release cable to take the latch off. Once installed, check the alignment and the latching and then lubricate it to run well.
