2006 Ford Mustang Body Control Module Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Body Control Module on 2006 Ford Mustang?
A: Service and repair of the Body Control Module requires uploading the module configuration details to diagnosis tools prior to SJB removal because subsequent download into the new module will be necessary post-installation. Cutting power from the battery system will protect the modules from potential static discharge. The following step consists of taking off the right-hand A-pillar lower trim panel followed by disconnecting both front SJB electrical connectors. Follow the procedure to remove the SJB nut before tightening this component to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) when reinstalling the SJB. Putting the Smart Junction Box downward and moving it forward lets you access its six rear electrical connectors for disconnecting them before you can remove the SJB. Prepare all wiring harnesses properly for correct routing to prevent damage by keeping them above the mounting surface beside the SJB. The installation procedure does not include removing the watershield from the new SJB. The installation process ends with a backward step of the removal process and downloading the diagnostic tool configuration to the new module.
