Service of the rear door window regulator and motor needs the removal of rear door trim panel followed by watershield and interior weather strip. Connect the window control switch electrical connector and battery while using the switch to position the rear door window glass for accessing the 2-part retainer. The service technician should maintain full glass support until reaching the completely upright position before unbolting the four screws of the rear door module assembly using a torque wrench set to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). To access the rear window regulator the technician should disconnect electrical connections and set the rear door inner module assembly to the side. Install the rear door window regulator by placing its three nuts at 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque setting. To proceed unplug the electrical connector from the motor and take off the rear door window regulator. Reinstall the outer and center portions of the retainer pin into the glass so they protrude equally on both sides before mounting the rear door window glass to the regulator. Proceed with the reverse installation steps by putting the retainer pin into the rear door window glass. Press and hold the rear door window regulator to its uppermost limit until an audible sound implies the retaining pin successfully secures itself to the regulator.
