2006 Lincoln Zephyr EGR Tube Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Exhaust Manifold to EGR Tube on 2006 Lincoln Zephyr?
A: Start the exhaust manifold to exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve tube servicing process by hoisting the vehicle with transmission set to neutral. The service requires uninstalling any 7 screws which keep the underbody cover in position. When disconnecting the EGR tube fitting from the EGR valve make sure to apply torque of 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) when reattaching it. According to the maintenance instructions the exhaust manifold-to-EGR valve tube fitting must be disconnected from both exhaust manifold and EGR valve while tightening it to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). Reinstall the exhaust manifold-to-EGR valve tube according to the backward removal process.
