2006 Lincoln Zephyr Fan Motor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the radiator cooling fan motor and shroud on all on 2006 Lincoln Zephyr?
A: Starting radiator cooling fan motor and shroud repair tasks on all vehicles requires positioning them on a hoist with neutral selected. Disconnect the battery ground cable. The generator air inlet duct must be removed away from 2.3L engines. The 3 block heater wire retainers must be detached from the cooling fan motor and shroud on all vehicles and then placed aside. After splashing shield removal you should detach the lower radiator hose bracket from the cooling fan motor and shroud. You must detach the retainer which holds the lower radiator hose from both the motor and the cooling fan shroud on 3.0L engine models. The cooling fan motor installation requires automatic transmission vehicles to separate their transmission cooler tubes from the shroud. Start by removing the cooling fan motor electrical connector followed by unharnessing the four retainers from the wiring and placing the harness aside then releasing the tabs before removing both the cooling fan motor and shroud unit. Reverse the steps used for removal to install the component.
