To maintain shock absorber, take out the upper arm and dispose bottom bolt and flag nut. Shock absorber: Squash the shock absorber, clear of bracket bolts and then steer the assembly out. Mark transfer index marks on the new shock absorber, use it loosely, and tighten it to given values of torque. Reinstall the upper arm.
