How to Service the Rear Coil Springs and Shock Absorber Assembly on a 2WD on 2006 Mercury Montego?

In order to service rear shock absorber of a 2WD vehicle, measure the distance of the hub and the fender, strip off the interior trim, and dispose the upper shock nut. Fix the vehicle, take away the brake caliper and the trailing arm bolts. Squeeze out the shock and then attach the new assembly and tighten all the bolts as required.
