2007 Ford Crown Victoria Light Control Module Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the Light Control Module on 2007 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Service of the Lighting Control Module (LCM) starts with uploading module configuration information to a scan tool because this data needs downloading into the new module following installation. The new LCM enters manufacturing mode through arrival with a default DTC B2477 that clears upon establishing necessary programming. If necessary, clear DTC B2477 after configuration. Start the process by removing the pin-type retainers before placing the LH instrument panel lower insulator aside. Starting with the courtesy lamp disconnected one should pull out the LH instrument panel lower insulator. Follow step one by taking away the accelerator pedal and use a screwdriver to remove the two attachment screws from the LCM before placing it aside. Detach the locking tabs before disconnecting electrical plugs to separate the LCM. Install the new module before retrieving configuration data from the scan tool to transfer into the module. The installation process should finish by following all steps in reverse order.
