2008 Ford Crown Victoria Light Control Module Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Light Control Module on 2008 Ford Crown Victoria?
A: Before servicing the Lighting Control Module (LCM) professionals need to transfer its configuration details to a scan tool because this step is mandatory only when replacing the LCM. A newly delivered LCM enters the market in manufacturing mode carrying DTC B2477 before clearing the fault upon a successful configuration of the module or during programmable module installation. Clearing DTC B2477 might be needed after completing these steps. Start the procedure by taking off the pin-type retainers then separating and putting aside the LH instrument panel lower insulator before disconnecting the courtesy lamp and completely removing the LH instrument panel lower insulator. Disassemble the accelerator pedal before taking out the two LCM securing screws and setting the LCM to the side. Unfasten the locking tabs on the LCM while also disconnecting its electrical connectors and then taking out the LCM unit. As the final step install the new module by downloading its configuration information from the scan tool before proceeding with the removal reversal.
