2007 Ford E-150 Body Control Module Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Body Control Module (BCM) on 2007 Ford E-150?
A: Service and repair operations for the Vehicle Security Module (VSM) require initial actions because electronic modules remain delicate to electrical voltage that can result in module breakdown. The process of module removal requires the technician to upload RKE TICs information through the scan tool because this data will be needed for the new module post-installation. Start by taking out the right-hand A-pillar lower trim panel and then detach the two VSM bolts while aiming to fasten them to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) torque upon the installation step. Remove the VSM by separating its two electrical connectors. A successful PMI operation allows the RKE TICs to be transferred automatically to the new module but RKE transmitter testing remains essential before vehicle return to the customer. Customer RKE transmitters require programming to the new module whenever the upload/download process fails. The installation completion follows the steps for reversing the removal process.
