2007 Ford E-250 Power Steering Hose Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Power Steering Hose and Hydraulic Booster to Steering Gear Pressure Line on 2007 Ford E-250?
A: The service process for power steering line along with hydraulic booster to steering gear pressure line begins with placing the vehicle on a hoist in neutral position. Immigrate power steering fluid from the reservoir tank using an appropriate suction tool. When servicing 6.0L Diesel vehicles it is necessary to start by removing pushpin retainers along with the upper air deflector before uninstalling the two bolts that secure the power steering fluid reservoir bracket to the cowl. These bolts should be tightened at 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.) when reinstalling. When reinstalling the power steering fluid reservoir bracket to the radiator support keep its fastening bolts at 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.) torque. Rephrase the power steering reservoir and bracket and detach the coolant hoses from the air cleaner outlet tube. Soak the two clamps before you detach the air cleaner outlet tube. Disconnect and clean the threads of the power steering pressure line-to-hydraulic booster jumper line fitting before fastening it to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) torque. When removing the power steering pressure line from the steering gear fitting users should clean both threads before tightening it to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) during reinstallation. Perform the opposite procedure to complete power steering system filling.
