2007 Ford Escape Power Steering Cooler Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Cooler on 2007 Ford Escape?
A: Start the service and repair process of the power steering cooler by draining power steering fluid content into a proper drain container. The first step requires owners to unwrap the front bumper cover followed by hose clamp disconnection to extract the power steering cooler-to-fluid reservoir tube. Proceed to disconnect the power steering gear-to-cooler return hose while releasing its clamp. Tighten the two power steering cooler nuts evenly to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.) measurement when reinstalling. You must remove the two power steering cooler bolts at this time while you secure them at 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.) when reinstalling. Follow the same order of steps for removal during installation and subsequently refill the power steering system.
