2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Transmitter Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and replace the keyless entry transmitter for the tailgate latch remote control on 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac?
A: The procedure to change the keyless entry transmitter starts by opening and supporting the tailgate. Start by removing 7 bolts combined with 4 pin-type retainers and finally take out the tailgate access panel. When installation time arrives lock the bolts at 5 Nm (44 lb-in). Open the clips which allows two tailgate latch actuating rods to escape their position on the remote control followed by releasing their corresponding locators from the tailgate surface. When you install the tailgate remote control, fasten the 2 nuts with torque up to 9 Nm (80 lb-in). The final step involves performing the opposite actions which were used during removal.
