How to service and repair the coil springs on F-250 and F-350 on 2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

Service and repair of F-250 and F-350 coil springs starts with placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. A suitable jack should support the front axle assembly. Disconnect and remove the shock absorber lower nut with washer and separate the shock absorber from its mounting stud before tightening the installation of the shock absorber to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.). Remove the spring bracket bolt first and then its bracket before tightening it to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.) when reattaching it to the vehicle. To free the spring from its upper seat position use a front axle drop until the spring is free then install an extension through the top to remove the spring lower nut that requires tightening to 133 Nm (98 ft. lbs.) at installation. An inspection of the upper and lower insulators must be performed after removing the spring lower retainer and spring. Necessary replacements should be made at this time. The reverse procedure should be performed for installing components while replacing each fastener with genuine components or equivalent parts needed for maintaining system performance and safety specifications.
