2007 Ford Five Hundred Brake Disc Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Remove and Replace the Front Brake Disc on 2007 Ford Five Hundred?
A: Starting the brake rotor/disc replacement procedure requires a vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. The brake caliper should never hang from the brake flexible hose because maintaining support with a suitable tool is essential. Begin the procedure by removing and discarding the two brake caliper and anchor plate assembly bolts before you put them aside. The next process requires the removal of the brake disc screw that needs disposal. To make the brake disc easier to remove it is important to put penetrating and lock lubricant between the brake disc and hub mating surfaces. Before installation of the new brake disc both the brake disc and wheel hub require cleaning treatment with brake parts cleaner to eliminate any present rust or foreign substances. Before attaching the new brake disc apply an ultrathin layer of anti-seize lubricant to the hub flange. Attach the new brake disc by using a new screw then tighten it to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Complete the installation by resetting the brake caliper along with the brake caliper anchor plate assembly then add two new bolts which should be fastened to 100 Nm (74 lb-ft).
