How to service the hood latch on 2007 Ford Five Hundred?

Identify the location of the hood latch, unscrew the two bolts and lay the latch aside in such a way that the release cable can be accessed and disconnected. Remove the latch. Installation/reinstallation Reverse the process, fasten the bolts to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Once installed, check and correct latch alignment so as to fit in.
