The tool should be used to lift the armrest and then remove the center console trim cover. Start by disconnecting the transmission control (TC) switch electrical connector and proceed to gently remove shift knob trim covers from their bottom front corners before the top front corner. Check the knob body for damage before conducting a replacement if needed. You must remove the two shift knob screws prior to taking off the shift knob while routing the TC switch electrical connector harness through the shift knob.
