How to service and repair the hood latch on 2007 Lincoln Town Car?

In order to repair the hood latch, undo the 5 retainers and unplug the hood ajar switch. Record the latch position prior to the removal of the 2 bolts and then disconnect the release cable. Install--undo steps in reverse order and make sure that the latch adjustment fits correctly into the hood striker.
