- Q: How to service the front seat armrest on 2007 Lincoln Town Car?A: The service of the front seat armrest starts by taking off the two pivot screw covers. To reset the armrest impact locking pin users must push the locking tab from the left side while the seat armrest at vertical position. Take off the seat armrest by removing the pivot screws from both sides of the armrest. When ready to remove the seat armrest lid you should first push the driver side latch button to open it followed by pushing the check lever to reset the two latch buttons before closing the lid partially. The seat armrest lid assembly should be lifted off by forcefully pressing the passenger side latch button. To install the seat armrest lid press first on the check lever to reset the latch mechanism and then push the passenger side latch button. Insert the seat armrest lid onto the passenger base wall and continue pushing until it reaches its maximum engagement with the driver side. Secure the check lever during this operation and activate the driver side latch button until you hear audile confirmation as well as noticeable depression of the driver side button. Unsqueeze the check lever while releasing the driver-side latch button after lowering the lid from a 45-degree angle to lead to a secure closure. A correct retention of the lid can be verified by completing three opening and closing motions from each directional side. To complete the installation replace the armrest before adding and tightening the two pivot screws before putting on the two pivot screw covers.
