How to Service and Repair the Rear Door Latch Assembly on 2007 Mercury Mariner?

You should start servicing the rear door latch through interior door handle removal followed by setting the rear door glass top run to one side. After removing the two bolts users should tighten them at 8 Nm (71 lb-in) during assembly. You should first disconnect the rear door latch electrical connector by both unclipping it from its housing then removing the electrical connector itself. You should proceed with disconnection of the exterior door actuating rod by first opening its clip followed by disconnecting the rod. The installation requires removal of the three rear door latch bolts and careful tightening them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). Remove the rear door latch from inside the door frame before proceeding with installation and lubricate the striking surfaces of the rear door latch during the reinstallation process by following the reverse procedure.
