2007 Mercury Mountaineer Dimmer Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the headlamp dimmer switch on 2007 Mercury Mountaineer?
A: The battery ground cable disconnect is the first step for servicing or repairing the headlamp dimmer switch. First remove the two screws on the steering column opening cover while next taking out the three screws which connect upper and lower steering column shrouds. First disconnect the multi-function switch electrical connector and afterward remove the two screws which secure the switch before extracting it. Reinstallation requires executing steps in reverse order to those used when taking out the components. Detaching the ignition lock cylinder at the same time as the ignition switch can result in damaging the steering column.
