- Q: How to service and repair the Center Console Base on 2008 Ford Edge?A: Start console repair work by setting the selector lever to neutral position. Use the feature to lift your seats up and move the seats forward before you remove the 2 floor console bolts at the back. Re-torque these bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) once you finish the installation. Take out the two side console panels while backing up the seats then remove two side panels plus two center bolts requiring a torque of 53 inch-pounds during reinstallation. Models with MKX require you to take out two scrivets from the floor console and disconnect the power point electrical connector to reach the storage compartment and finish panel. Disassemble the floor console by taking out its 2 front side bolts then fasten them back using 6 Nm torque pressure each time. After freeing the instrument panel bolts, unscrew the 2 floor console bolts and install their tighteners to 6 Nm (53 lb-in). Pull the floor console electrical connector away from the wiring harness in the right front lower side and take out the floor console. Begin by reinstating the previous removal steps to install the floor console.
