2008 Ford Mustang A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Accumulator in the HVAC System on 2008 Ford Mustang?
A: Refrigerant recovery at the start is necessary before servicing the suction accumulator in an HVAC system. Save the inlet fitting of the suction accumulator for disposal while removing its O-ring seals. Detach the outlet fitting before removing all O-ring seals from the fitting. Tear off the two bolts that retain the suction accumulator before extracting the accumulator from its location. New suction accumulators must always stay capped until the instant before joining line fittings. The atmosphere should not contact the suction accumulator desiccant. After reversing this procedure install new O-ring seals and apply the right amount of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. The refrigerant system requires evacuating then leak testing before charging it.
