- Q: How to Service the Dome Light on 2008 Ford Taurus?A: Service of the dome lamp starts with the front interior lamp which requires pulling down on the rear of the overhead console until the retaining clips detach and disconnecting the electrical connectors. Once the four retaining clips are released the lamp assembly can be taken out from the overhead console. After removing the lamp assembly the next step includes taking off the lens by releasing the six retaining clips. The bulbs need to be pulled through the opening located at the rear of the lamp assembly when replacement is necessary. To access the second or third row interior lamp take out the lens before releasing two retaining clips through the access holes to extract the interior lamp and detach its electrical connector. Any interior lamp installation requires following the direction opposite to the removal steps.
