  A: The first step before moving forward with replacement of the rear right parking brake cable is to reduce parking brake cable tension. Arm first the intermediate cable from the left-hand rear cable from the cable equalizer and discard the double cable clamp. When installing the bracket bolt remove first the right-hand parking brake bracket bolt but tighten this bolt to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) when completed. The right-hand rear parking brake cable needs removal by disconnecting it from the rear parking brake levers before removing the cable from the main vehicle body. After installation the technician should perform inspection of the parking brake system to verify proper operation.
