How to service the Parking Assist Distance Sensor on 2008 Mercury Mariner?

In order to service the Parking Assist Distance Sensor, place the vehicle in neutral on a hoist. The outer sensors are found behind the cover of the rear bumper, and inner sensors do not have to be removed. Disconnect the sensor by pushing retaining tabs and the electrical connector. Turn the process in reverse to fit the new sensor.
