How to service the thermostat housing on a 4.0L SOHC engine on 2008 Mercury Mountaineer?

In order to service the thermostat housing of a 4.0L SOHC with engine, drain the cooling system, disconnect the ECT sensor and remove the upper radiator and heater hoses. Take off the thermostat housing bolts, screw the new housing and O-ring into place and screw bolts to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Turn it back to complete.
