The first step is to discard the crankshaft pulley bolt along with the washer by removing the pulley bolt. The extraction of the crankshaft pulley requires a 3-jaw puller. When installing the sealant fails to set during its initial 4-minute timeframe it must be disposed and the sealing area needs cleaning with metal surface prep and silicone gasket remover before allowing the surface to dry for the longer duration of no moisture visibility or 4 minutes to avoid oil leakages. Place the Woodruff key slot of the crankshaft pulley under silicone gasket and sealant before treating the sealant surface area with engine oil. A technician should use the crankshaft vibration damper installer to place the crankshaft pulley. The installation process includes new bolts and washers for the crankshaft pulley after torquing the bolt first to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) and secondly loosening it by 360 degrees and finally torquing it to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) while finally tightening it by an additional 90 degrees. Using a clockwise rotation of the tensioner will restore the accessory drive belt onto the crankshaft pulley before finishing the work by mount the cooling fan.
