The beginning of repairing a hood latch starts by eliminating the hood retainers and upper radiator sight shield which contains ten pin-type retainer elements. Unfasten the two bolts which secure the hood latch. Fasten the bolts on the new latch at 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) tightness. After disconnecting the hood latch cable from its position you should reverse all previous removal steps for the installation process. Check the hood latch function by inspecting its engagement of the striker in secondary latched and primary fully latched positions before performing required adjustments.
