When servicing the front fender liner with its fender splash shield on power running board vehicles the running board should always be in lowered position. Topics that generate serious personal injuries become preventable by turning off the power running boards prior to jacking or lifting objects below the vehicle. This is because door closure immediately retracts the extended running boards. Place the vehicle at neutral position and position it on a hoist. From the fender you must remove first the lower pin-type retainer followed by the removal of the eight screws that hold the fender splash shield in place then uninstall both inner pin-type retainer components from the splash shield. When all removable components have been taken out from the vehicle you can remove the fender splash shield. The end of installation requires performing the reverse action which undoes the removal steps previously taken.
