How to service the front Wheelhouse liner on 2009 Ford Explorer?

Service of the front fender liner starts by unscrewing running board bolts then lowering the board to reach the pin-type retainer on the front fender moulding. Chassis shop personnel should follow running board bolt loosening with a torque setting of 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) before running board reinstallation. The maintenance process starts by taking out the lower pin-type retainer from the front fender moulding before accessing the two back pin-type retainers. Use the opportunity created by moving the front fender moulding to reach the splash shield lower screw before taking out all screws and retaining pins from both front and back splash shields. Begin front splash shield removal by first dismounting the front splash shield from the car. The service ends with the reverse order for reinstalling components.
