2009 Ford F-150 Power Window Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Rear Power Window Motor for SuperCab and SuperCrew on 2009 Ford F-150?
A: Beginning the service and repair of the SuperCab and SuperCrew rear window motor includes first removing rear corner trim panels and then following up with B-pillar trim panel removal for SuperCab models combined with C-pillar trim panel removal for SuperCrew models. The next step involves removing the pin-type retainers from the rear trim panel as well as the rear trim panel itself. Start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the rear window glass motor. After that disconnect the three screws from the rear window glass regulator and motor assembly. Proceed by disconnecting the three bolts between the steel bracket and the plastic cable housing with great care. Using a screwdriver while maintaining the grip of the motor and plastic cable housing will gently separate the motor from the drum while keeping the drum inside the plastic cable housing. To install the motor first match the splines on its gear with the drum before pressing it into position and before securing the steel bracket to plastic cable housing through three attachment bolts. After securing three bolts connecting the rear window glass regulator together carefully tighten them to 11 Nm (97 lb-in) before you can reconnect the rear window glass motor electrical connector. The last step involves reinstalling the rear trim panel and attaching its pin-type retainers and then adding the rear corner trim panels before fitting the B-pillar trim panels to SuperCab and the C-pillar panels to SuperCrew vehicles.
