Persons repairing or servicing power steering lines must begin by removing the power steering pump pulley. The two bolts and the oil drip shield must be taken out before tightening them to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) when reinstalling them. The service technician should disconnect the power steering pressure fitting at the power steering pump by tightening it to 65 Nm (48 lb-ft) during installation. The Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch electrical connector needs disconnecting after which the power steering pressure line bracket bolt securing it to the crossmember must be removed and tightened to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) upon reassembly. When reinstalling the power steering pressure line bracket to the engine after removal the securing nut requires torque to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). Remove the power steering line clamp plate bolt then rotate the clamp plate before disconnecting the power steering pressure line while ensuring a 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) torque when reattaching it. The removal procedure must be performed in reverse fashion while filling the power steering system.
