2009 Mercury Grand Marquis Light Control Module Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the Light Control Module on 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis?
A: Service of the Lamp Control Module (LCM) requires transferring the module configuration data to a scan tool because this data needs to be loaded into the new module post-installation. After installing a new LCM users should know that the module arrives with B2477 as its default diagnostic trouble code in manufacturing mode until clear or complete PMI configuration. Eventually users must clear this diagnostic trouble code individually. Begin by taking out the pin-type retainers followed by moving aside the LH instrument panel lower insulator and then disconnect the courtesy lamp before removing the complete insulator. After removing the accelerator pedal you should disconnect the LCM from its screws and place it to the side. After releasing the locking tabs users should disconnect electrical connectors and take away the LCM unit. A scan tool should download configuration data to the new module when users install a new module. Performing the installation requires following the steps of removal in reverse order.
