How to service the Engine Control Module on Ford Crown Victoria?

The procedure to work with the Engine Control Module begins by disconnecting the ground cable from the battery. After disconnecting the powertrain control module (PCM) you must remove its three electrical connectors together with the release clips. Extract the retaining bolt securing the PCM then remove it from its mounting bracket. The installation of the PCM requires you to first tighten the retaining bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) before you follow the opposite order of removal steps to finish the process.
