Start the service and repair of the automatic transmission shifter by removing the instrument panel cluster opening finish panel assembly. Service and repair of the automatic transmission shifter requires positioning the ignition switch lock cylinder to the RUN position then using a suitable tool to emancipate the cylinder release tab by pushing upward through the lower shroud hole before pulling the cylinder outward. Remove the steering column shroud above and disconnect the electrical cable from the selector lever before you can take out the lever. The installation requires a new transmission range selector lever pin whenever it has been removed and then continue with the reverse order steps to rebuild the system.
