Service or repair of the leaf spring starts by taking off the wheel along with the tire. A Hi-Lift Jack should support the rear axle before you disconnect the lower end of the rear shock absorber. The next step requires separation of the rear spring from the rear axle through nut and U-bolt and rear spring plate removal. Untwist the bolts that secure the rear spring then uninstall the nuts before you take away the rear spring piece. To install the leaf spring perform the uninstallation steps in reverse order until the installation process is finished.
