Ford E-150 Econoline Turn Signal Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the turn signal switch on Ford E-150 Econoline?
    A:
Service and repair work for the turn signal switch starts with disconnecting the ground cable of the battery. Begin the repair of the Ignition Lock Cylinder by inserting the ignition key into the lock cylinder then move it to RUN position. A punch tool should be used to apply pressure on the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab through the lower steering column shroud hole before pulling out the lock cylinder. First twist the wheel handle along with the shank to break free the steering wheel when needed for clear access. Begin by extracting both steering column shrouds after you take out their screws and separate them one by one. The multi-function switch requires disassembly by unscrewing it followed by disconnecting its two electrical connectors before extraction of the switch itself. Follow the direct opposite of the uninstallation steps to reinstall the components. Post-battery connection the vehicle must drive at least 16 kilometers (10 mi) to learn its adaptive control strategy again since it will display irregular driving symptoms.
